His leadership ability was evident immediately; Mike was quickly recognized by his superiors for his exceptional work in redeveloping operations plans in the Republic of Korea. Mike further distinguished himself from his colleagues when he was selected by both his peers and superiors as “Soldier of the Year” for his unit. These numerous honors and awards helped Mike secure an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, a rare honor.

As an officer in the United States Army, Mike Todd quickly distinguished himself as he was personally selected to serve as the sole transportation officer for his unit in drug interdiction efforts in Central America. Upon his return from Central America, Mike once again distinguished himself as a leader when he was selected above his peers to represent his unit in a very prestigious internship with the Joint Forces Command in Norfolk, Virginia.
